Cloud+ Tutorial

A beginner-friendly walkthrough of Sabay's Cloud+ business services (SabayTEKH PaaS) — deploying a container with Run App, storing files with S3-compatible Storage, and running a managed Database with backups.

Cloud+ is Sabay's business PaaS: a set of dashboard-driven services for running and storing things without managing your own servers. Unlike the ABA PayWay and Bakong KHQR series, there's no API to call from your own code — these are UI workflows (create a "stack", subscribe to a plan, configure environment variables, attach a domain), and this series walks through them the same way it walks through code, paired with small runnable example apps you can actually deploy where one makes sense.

This series covers three Cloud+ services so far:

  • Run App — a Docker container hosting service (create a stack from an image, configure it, attach a domain, manage/delete it).
  • Storage — an S3-compatible object storage service (create a bucket, get access keys, upload/list/download/delete objects).
  • Database — managed MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MariaDB (pick a plan, create an instance, connect with psql and Node.js, restrict access with an IP whitelist, enable backups and restore from them).

Other Cloud+ services (Streaming, Transcoder, CMS) aren't covered yet — see the source repository for progress.

  1. 01Getting Started with Run AppWhat Run App is, how the subscription/plan flow works, and how to create your first stack.
  2. 02Deploying docker-hello-worldBuild, run, and deploy a small Express app to Run App — the concrete image the dashboard steps from Part 1 actually operate on.
  3. 03Custom Domains and Managing a StackAttach a custom domain via CNAME, check a stack's state, and update or delete it.
  4. 04Restart Policies and Multi-Service StacksRestart Condition (Any / On failure / None) with a one-off batch job, and wiring two services in one stack together via the internal Service Network.
  5. 05Getting Started with StorageWhat Cloud+ Storage is, the project/bucket relationship, and creating your first bucket.
  6. 06Uploading and Managing ObjectsAccess keys, bucket settings, sub-users, and a runnable Express app that uploads/lists/downloads/deletes objects via the S3 API.
  7. 07Getting Started with DatabaseWhat Cloud+ Database is, how plans and clusters work, and the full create-a-database flow from verification to your first PostgreSQL instance.
  8. 08Connecting to Your DatabaseThe database detail page, internal vs external connection details, and connecting with psql and a Node.js script.
  9. 09IP Whitelisting and Editing Your DatabaseControlling who can connect with an IP whitelist, why 0.0.0.0/0 is risky, and using EDIT to change settings.
  10. 10Backup and RestoreEnabling paid automatic backups, reading the backup list, and restoring from a backup file — and why a backup you've never restored isn't proven.
